Dreaming of Vital Congregations – GBOD Video Series

A video series celebrating and exploring the issues we hold dear with an eye toward the future.

All of us want to be a part of a church that is vital and vibrant. We dream of a church that touches our soul and sends us out into the world to “Make Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”

It’s in that spirit the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD) has produced a five-part film series celebrating and exploring the issues. Use these films as discussion starters in your small groups. Dream with us.

Trinity UMC honored to be Prayer site for Methodist Conferences – Feb 26

SPECIAL PRAYER EVENT

Sunday, February 26: 2-4pm  at Trinity UMC, Troy

The Spiritual Life team is sponsoring several prayer events offered at various points around the conference the weekend of February 25 and 26. These two-hour sessions are to call laity and clergy to come together for a time of prayer for the upcoming General and Jurisdictional Conferences, the Bishop, delegation, episcopal candidate, and for churches, pastors, leaders, and members moving into a season of change. Each event is two hours in length and while people participate in the order of prayers, they will also find a model they can take back to their local churches. The team has also designed a 50-day prayer schedule for the conference that will be revealed as the conferences approach. Laity and clergy are invited to attend a location of their choice.

Saturday, February 25: 9-11am

Haymount UMC, Fayetteville
St. James UMC, Greenville
St. Mark UMC, Raleigh

Sunday, February 26: 2-4pm

Amity UMC, Chapel Hill

First UMC, Elizabeth City (Note: shorter model included with Lay Rally / Expo 3 pm)

Trinity United Methodist Church, Troy

Pine Valley UMC, Wilmington
